Considered by some as the Godfather of streetwear, Fujiwara wears many hats as a creator, producer and musician, but is perhaps most renowned for his approach to fashion. Making clothing that he himself would wear, the designer joins forces with Moncler. Known for creating visually normal pieces which are packed with hidden surprises, the collaboration introduces a diverse collection that has an eye for the future.
In menswear, Fujiwara’s urban aesthetic and streetwear influence can be seen in a diverse range of outwear and a sophisticated take on casualwear exemplifies the brand’s pristine reputation for innovation and pushing the boundaries of the everyday. In an array of muted colours, the wearable items verge on essential must haves, in accessible silhouettes that are suited to every size and shape.
Introducing a new slogan for the season, ‘WORLD OF MONCLER’, or, ‘WOM’. Representing Fujiwara’s perception of the brand as consistent, the acronym can be read upside down and remain the same. The dedication of the project is clear as he embraces Moncler’s decorated heritage as the pinnacle of creativity and innovation in producing highly coveted, distinctive pieces.
Respectful of the house’s history, the collection includes different collaborations across a spectrum of subcultures. The involvement of Lewis Leathers’ influence is visible in the updated 441 Cyclone Jacket, and new interpretations of the iconic Chuck 70 sneaker serve as a nod to the Chuck Taylor All Star.
As always, the ‘World of Moncler’ continues to evolve and grow, and the FRGMT Hiroshi Fujiwara collection is no exception.
