A Stylist’s Guide to Spring Footwear
It may be cold outside, but spring is on the horizon. With new season footwear arriving every day, we thought it was time to introduce you to the footwear you need this spring. We’ve enlisted the help of our resident stylist, Alex, who has selected his top picks and how to style them to create the perfect look.
"For the first men’s sneaker pick for spring, I have selected the Ball Star by Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. A versatile sneaker considering the great leather construction, especially on wet days. To wear with the sneakers, I would suggest the Pepsi Skater Jeans from the limited-edition Pepsi x Dsquared2 capsule collection, and the Round Neck Jumper by Moncler, featuring the brand’s classic logo patch in Moncler's iconic tricolour stripes, to create a very casual look."
"For my second look, I’ve chosen to build it around the Dylan Ankle Boots by Saint Laurent. Saint Laurent is known for their boots and they are the perfect pair for spring, although take extra consideration in the rain as the upper on these is a premium suede. I’ve teamed the boots with the Tartan Check Trousers from Dolce&Gabbana, as the slightly cropped length sits at the perfect place just above the boot. Finishing the look with the Minimal Jacket to create a smart look which will carry you through spring."
"Lastly, I’ve chosen a sneaker, but one that’ll see you through the spring and into the summer; the Balenciaga Speed Sock Sneakers. This iconic sneaker needs no introduction and should most definitely be in your current rotation of footwear. I’ve paired the sneakers with a Tie Dye Chenille Track Jacket and Track Pants from Palm Angels to create the perfect blend of comfort and style for a luxury sportswear look."
"Spring is the perfect season for sneakers, and with that in mind, I am beginning my picks for women with the Ribbon Tie Sneakers from MM6 Maison Margiela. The runner-inspired sneakers with contrasting ribbon tie are the perfect combination to create this casual look. Teamed with the wide leg Lace Trousers and Two-Tone Belted Jacket, both by MM6 Maison Margiela, which work perfectly with the light tones from the sneaker."
"As I previously mentioned, boots are perfect for spring, and Balenciaga’s Double B Booties are my pick for my second look. I’ve paired them with the high waisted Formal Moncler Trousers which elongate the leg, and contrast with the black boots. I have finished the look with the black Mesh Cinched Top which is a great alternative to a t-shirt."
"Lastly, for a transitional piece of footwear, I’ve chosen the Giuseppe Zanotti Blabber Gummy Sandals. Sandals are great for warmer weather, but for when it’s too cold to brave bare feet, I’m a big fan of pairing sandals with socks. I’ve paired them with a pair of PAIGE Straight Jeans in a light blue wash, and the Burberry pink Deer Print Hoodie which is ideal for creating a casual look and completes the outfit."
