A Stylist's Guide to End of Summer Dressing
As summer draws to an end (although some would argue, did it ever begin?) we tentatively start to move our denim cut-offs to the back of the wardrobe – hoping the sun will provide one last opportune moment to wear them. While we’re waiting for a final hoorah in the weather the realistic among us are beginning to look into our wardrobes and feel confused. Jumpers? Shorts? Boots? Sandals? Usually a source of joy, our wardrobes have become a minefield. But it’s a minefield that our in-store stylists know how to navigate, so we’ve asked them to give us a helping hand in creating some looks that don’t feel too autumnal but, equally, won’t leave us shivering either.
MEN'S LOOK BY ALEX
I focused on using loose silhouettes and adding a layering element with the Thom/Krom sweatshirt underneath the Margiela t-shirt to make the look a little more transitional (remove the sweatshirt and tie it around your waist should things get a little warm). The fusion sneaker is the perfect selection for footwear as the red heel highlight matches the design on the t-shirt. Adding a sophisticated bag like the Christian Louboutin reporter bag elevates the outfit, with a pair of Gucci socks to finish the look.
WOMEN'S LOOK BY SARAH
Layering is the key when it comes to transitional end of summer outfits. An oversized shirt like this MM6 fall collection one is ideal as it’s light and can be draped over the shoulders or tied around the waist if the sun makes an appearance. There is still time to get those pins out: opt for a chunky boot like this Kenzo pair for a laid back feel that won't leave you with chilly toes.
