Jil Sander felt that fashion was unpractical, which led her to launch her own line in 1968, “I felt it was more attractive to cut clothes with respect for the three-dimensional body rather than to cover the body with decorative ideas.” Since the creation of the brand, Jil Sander has been a pioneer for luxury minimalism with a no frills, high-quality approach to fashion. Jil Sander offers ready-to-wear collections for her and for him including shoes and accessories.
In April 2019 the brand launched, JIL SANDER+, a new offer complementing Jil Sander’s main collection and created for life outdoors and outside the city. This season the brand has collaborated with photographer, Tim Elkhaim, who shot the campaign in Biarritz.

Lucie and Luke Meier became creative directors of Jil Sander in 2017. This season Lucie and Luke further develop the key concepts of the brand's aesthetic with a focus on utility and intimacy. As a brand that focuses on designing things that last, the constructions are simple and strong with natural fibers playing an essential part in the process.
Jil Sander offers the best in basics and beyond. The most luxurious fabrics are manipulated to create the pieces that will stay in your wardrobe for a very long time. By creating modern tailoring and utility pieces, they have made sure functionality is at the centre of the collection.
